We're running Scalix 10 Community Edition on a vmware image for our office email. The problem we're having is that whenever a mailbox gets sufficiently large, say 6000 messages or so, it starts to behave strangely. Attempts to delete or move files will often yield a message that the system is too busy to process the request.

Sometimes the folder will become completely unresponsive. This isn't a disk space issue, nor does it seem to be an I/O issue.

Any possible suggestions on where to look to figure out what's causing this?

What is the base OS on which you installed your VM session?
What is the OS which Scalix is installed on
What is your disk susbsystem
How much memory is allocated to the VM session running Scalix?
How many users do you run on the system?


This sort of info may help diagnose your issues
