Migration from Imail

I'm currently working on migrating from Imail to Scalix. I worked out a script to import users but can't seem to find it. Guess I will have to recreat from the post i made a while back and the answer that i got.

At any rate i was pondering about something.

Would it be possible for me to allow POP service on my Imail and SMTP service on Scalix so that Scalix will start the storage process and just use port forwarding? I'm trying to allow time for all users to get their emails off of the current Imail server. Imail stores each email to a user in one text file that is mime format. not sure if i can do a simple copy and past to get the messages to the user store.

at any rate would this work?

Imail ip address of 10.1.1.200
scalix ip address of 10.1.1.201

do a port forward though my dmz that everything for 10.1.1.200 port 110 be forwarded to 10.1.1.201 port 110

after said time of users checking their email on the imail server switch port 25 to scalix as well. then would just be a few minutes of down time to change ip address which could be done anytime there after.

well not sure on the port forwarding stuff. Even i have the same objective of migrating users from Imail to Scalix. What i had planned is to do an "Imap Sync" for mail migration once the users of Imail is created in Scalix. It would be great if Scalix can highlight the steps and detail on the procedure which needs to be followed for this migration.

Thx for the reply ram. I used an export tool for the user names and pass word that i found. I just really would like to do either an imap sync before i turn the scalix server on. that would make a nice switch over.

Any idea on how to do an imap sync. would be great to do that remoltly on a sunday when no one is using the email servers.

Anyone have an idea to migrate from IMail. Users are not the issue. It is the left over email on the imail server that i would like to be able to import.

For those that don't know imail stores emails in mime format in one document. so there are multipule emails in one text type document file.

any idea on how to get this over to scalix in the correct mail boxes?
