Migration from Imail

I'm currently working on migrating from Imail to Scalix. I worked out a script to import users but can't seem to find it. Guess I will have to recreat from the post i made a while back and the answer that i got.
At any rate i was pondering about something.
Would it be possible for me to allow POP service on my Imail and SMTP service on Scalix so that Scalix will start the storage process and just use port forwarding? I'm trying to allow time for all users to get their emails off of the current Imail server. Imail stores each email to a user in one text file that is mime format. not sure if i can do a simple copy and past to get the messages to the user store.
at any rate would this work?
Imail ip address of 10.1.1.200
scalix ip address of 10.1.1.201
do a port forward though my dmz that everything for 10.1.1.200 port 110 be forwarded to 10.1.1.201 port 110
after said time of users checking their email on the imail server switch port 25 to scalix as well. then would just be a few minutes of down time to change ip address which could be done anytime there after.
