license expiration message

Dear Florian,
I installed a Pre Relaese version 11 of Scalix with the community edition license.

I have been using it for testing on a small network but now when my users connect through Webmail interface, it says that the license for Scalix has expired.

I did not read anywhere that community edition had a limited time constraint... could you confirm if it so or is a bug?

If so, how can we correct it ...

Kind regards
ash

Scalix 11 Alpha, the two Betas as well as the two RC's have got time limits on, if I remember correctly. The intent is to ensure people don't keep on running with potentially buggy software, but upgrade to Scalix 11 GA.

Scalix 11 GA does not have an expiry on it, as far as I am aware.

The best way IMO is:

0) Make a backup in case things go wrong
1) For every mailbox, do a sxmboxexp
2) Do the same for your Public Folders
3) Uninstall Scalix 11 Alpha and delete the mailstore
4) Reinstall Scalix 11 GA and create a clean mailstore
5) Create all your users
6) For every user do a sxmboximp

Or, if you like living on the edge, you can install Scalix 11GA and tell it to upgrade your mailstore. But I know that upgrade path has never been tested before, officially.

The release notes for the alpha installation detailed that it was not to be used for production purposes and that there would be no upgrade path.

To confirm Valerion's statement, no upgrade from alpha has been tested.

Cheers
