Simultaneous IMAP and Scalix Connect to the same account

Hello,

We've deployed Scalix 11 and amavisd-new, and as part of the latter I would like to set up an automated sa-learn script (as per the wiki) to improve the bayesian filtering of incoming email.

However, I notice in the wiki page the following:

http://www.scalix.com/wiki/index.php?ti ... amAssassin

Another thing worth considering is that at the moment Scalix do not recommend that users run Scalix Connect and IMAP against the same mailbox at the same time. Use your own discretion.

Can anyone confirm if this is an issue with Scalix 11?

Given that I can't guarantee that the users won't be logged into their email accounts via Scalix Connect when the script runs, what are the risks involved?

Darren.

The situation should be significantly better in Scalix 11 than it was before.

The issues before mostly resulted from IMAP clients (including SWA) not checking whether messages and folders had appeared/disappeared as a result of other client interactions.
SWA has improved a lot in this area.

Your sa-learn script will need to be aware that other clients can delete/add messages and folders whilst it is running and handle those situations appropriately. Changes it makes should not adversely affect Scalix Connect usage.

Gren.
