CLI option to delete folders

I have several mail folders that I can not delete.

They were created from the SWA but If I try to delete them, rename them or move them I get an error message along the lines of "I can't do that, contact your administrator".

Is there a command line option to delete folders, or repair them ?

Or failing that can I locate the files on the Hard drive and delete/edit them ?

Thanks

Hi

I would suggest you to look through the man pages of omtidyu.

Warm Regards,

Thanks for the tip, but I can't see how omtidyu will help. I need to delete an actual folder, not the messages.

Hi!

I am sorry for the lag time. I would request you run omscan against the user(s) with problems to see if there's some corruption in the message store. Try

Code: Select all

omscan -Avx -U <username>

(the username would be the name you use to log into SWA).

Also let us know if these folder(s) is/are public folder(s) or they exist within your mailbox. If you are trying to delete a public folder you would surely get a permission denied error.

Try accessing your mail account from a different mail client like Outlook and see if you are able to delete the folder(s).

Please post the contents of fatal log if any. Let us know the Scalix version you use.

Thanks,
Subir

Subir is right, it would be good to find out if there is anything wrong with those mailboxes so that the folders cannot be deleted from the client.

However, if anything else fails, the omcontain tool is the way to go. Search the forum for details, but be warned that it is rather low-level to use.

Cheers,
Florian.

well, it asks for the User Name, so why don't you give it what omshowu reports as the user name.... :-)

... -U "Dave Gordon /CN=Dave Gordon"
