Public Calendar

Postby srcfoo » Fri Dec 01, 2006 4:19 pm

Hi,

I've got Scalix 10 CE running and I love it so far. You guys are great!

I'm starting to go a little nutty over this problem, however, so I hope someone can help.

I want to add a public calendar so anyone in my company can view and add calendar items. This seems like a simple task, but I am completely frustrated at this point.

I've scoured the forum, admin docs, google, and knowledgebase and I haven't found anything. I think it is probably because I'm not understanding something, but nothing I have found clearly says "To add a public calendar, do this...". I thought I had it when using my account from the Webmail interface, I right-clicked on the "Public Folders" icon and selected "New Subfolder". But it says I don't have permission. My account is a full administrator account so I don't know why not.

I did add a new public folder using omaddbb, but that doesn't show up from the webmail client and it doesn't seem to allow me to select the type of items for that folder.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Eric

.
Right click on Calendar, and create a new sub folder of calendar items. Then drag that calendar to Public Folders. It will then be available to all premium users.

The other way is to delegate, which can also make the calendar available to standard users. I have written a beginner's guide to delegation which needed a small addition that is almost done. PM me with your email for an advance copy.
