Forward email from a specific domain to another email addres

Hello,

Quick question: How do I forward an email from one our domains to an outside email address.

Example:

We have 3 domains example.com, example2.com and example3.com. I want to forward all the email sent to user@example2.com to user@yahoo.com but i want all the email for user@example.com and user@example3.com to be delivered normally.

I was able to do this easily in Communigate via the route tables but I have not been able to figure this out in Scalix.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi!

Please correct me if I am wrong. What I understand from your e-mail is that you wish to redirect mails for an existing user in scalix to his/her personal yahoo e-mail id.

If this is the case we have provided two ways of doing this. The mail redirection can be made possible using the rules wizard available in webmail window or using the sxaa utility available in admin_resource_kit folder of the scalix distribution.

• Using rules wizard
o Login your account using webmail, in menu bar choose Tools -> Rules Wizard
o Login the rules wizard window that pops-up using the password you would have used to login your account in webmail.
o Click New…, type the rule name, Click on Action, choose “Redirect to People or distribution listâ€

Thank you for replying.

I've tried the sxaa tool. When I run the command with a specific domain attached to the user I get an error " The user can't be found, or has been deleted." but if I remove the domain and just have the username it sets the rule and every email sent to the user is forwarded to the yahoo account. That includes example1.com, example2.com and example3.com emails, when I only want example2.com forwarded.

This is the ONLY issue I have not been able to figure out using the community forums. Hands down Scalix is far superior to a lot of other products I have tested in the past month.

I'm using Scalix 10.0.1 running on Redhat Enterprise 4

Just as a tip for the sxaa command:
If you want to keep a copy of their mail on the local system and also have it forwarded to the offsite (yahoo) system, add a --retain on the sxaa command

/sxaa --user "user@example2.com" --redirect user@yahoo.com --retain

Otherwise, all mail sent to user@example2.com will be forwarded, without a copy being kept in their local inbox.

Thanks for the tip. I actually use the "--retain" command switch when forwarding emails to our blackberries.

Hi!

I would request you to please revert with the result of the command "omshowu" for the user you wish to redirect the mails for. The purpose of my request is to know if the same user has three different accounts or there are three domains made available on the same scalix server.

Whether same user account has been assigned aliases, or what could you please explain your senarion more explecitly as to what settings you have.
