LDAP to other server types

Postby jhirsch10 » Wed Nov 15, 2006 10:10 am

Hi all, I have two other companies, one running Lotus Notes the other Exchange, that i wan't to provide an address book of their users for my users. I know the LDAP connection works as i have setup thunderbird with an LDAP directory and am able to browse their user list. I need to provide this to all of my users, meaning Outlook(via the connector) SWA and thunderbird. Is there a way to create a server address book such that this other companies address book shows in the address book drop down in Outlook where the SYSTEM book is? i would think i could connect the Scalix server to their LDAP but i'm not sure how.
any help is appreciated,
jason

There is no way via Scalix other than using omldapsync but this adds the entries to the SYSTEM directory.

If you want to use Outlook and LDAP, you will need to install the Microsoft LDAP Address Book provider on all client machines.

Don't you already have a support call open for this question ?

Cheers

I do and i've sent this question 3 times over the past couple of weeks. it's kind of sad that i pay for support and get a quicker answer from a community forum!
if i use the ldap sync option, will it only take the entries at that particular time or is it "live" in that it removes and adds users as they do it in their email server?
thanks

I can see that we sent you a response on November 7th which mirrors exactly what I told you.

Given that this is with support, I'll back out of this thread.

Cheers
