scalix server backend? What db does scalix server run on?

Is it a proprietary format or is it one of the opensource db's out there

mysql or postresql.

I am newbie to scalix I'm in the process of downloading a copy of the community version.

The message store is our own filesystem based format, no database in place.

We use PostgreSQL in Scalix 11 as a header Cache to increase performance for Scalix Web Access and other use cases. It's only a cache though, no admin or backup needed.

We don't currently use MySQL.
