You seem to be having quite a few problems. On more than one posting you've indicated that the problem is urgent. There are no service level agreements associated with this forum. If you are having problems of an urgent nature, I suggest you purchase support.

Your out put from ommaint weekly is not reporting anything unusual.

I suggest running omscan on this user's mailbox with:

omscan -Afx -U "user name"

Don

Hello Don,

So thanks for your quick reply, my post was not meant to be arrogating or something like this... I don't usually don't demand replys to be rather urgent, but unfortunalety I didn't receive any answers on some of my posts (not on all, please don't get this is the wrong neck). So slowly everything seemed to work smoothly and yesterday the co-worker came with this problem to me and I thought "shit, everything X up".

So thanks for your quick reply, my post was not meant to be arrogating or something like this... my fault.

I read about the omscan command in the Knowledgebase but I didn't understand what will really happen. Will there be a loss of data/messages if I run this command? Must the user be logged out or not?

Big thanks for any help,

Kurt

No need to apologize, I'm just saying, this isn't the place for ugent matters. As I said, there are no SLAs associated with the forum.

From the man page for omscan:

Code: Select all

omscan  reports, and optionally repairs, inconsistencies in the Message
Store, the message queues, and the message lists.  It also deletes tem-
porary  files and "dead" lookup Directories, and reports the disk space
used by each local user.

Press [Ctrl/C] to shut down the omscan process cleanly.

Specifically, omscan:

A·  Reports missing or corrupt User Folders and Trays.

A·  Reports and deletes references in container items to files that do
     not exist.

A·  Reports  and moves orphan data files (data files that are not ref-
erenced   by   any    container    item)    to    the    directory
     /var/opt/scalix/orphans.

A·  Deletes    any   files   that   have   been   in   the   directory
/var/opt/scalix/orphans for more than 30 days.

A·  Reports and moves incomplete messages on queues and message  lists
to  the  ERROR queue.  (Incomplete messages in the HP Desk Gateway
TRANSFER    directories    are    moved    to    the     directory
     /var/opt/scalix/desk/errors.)

A·  Reports  and deletes "dead" lookup Directories. These are directo-
ries marked for deletion but which could not  be  deleted  at  the
time because processes appeared to be accessing them.

A·  Deletes  files in the /var/opt/scalix/tmp and /var/opt/scalix/temp
directories which have not been modified for 7 days.

A·  Reports the disk space used by each  local  user  in  the  Message
Store and the disk space used by the Bulletin Board area.

Please see the man page for more details.

You shouldn't see loss of data. This tool is used to reconcile inconsistencies.

Regards,
Don

Yesterday I mailed your support with an Licence issue and Yuri replyed very quickly and helped out without any further problems :)

we indeed have by now one 50 user Standard Scalix ....

Thanks for your help Don, user is by now happy again and does not miss any items.

Just one question perhaps which is not part of this problem: Will the next Scalix release be shipped with the right sync13.schema file from Florian in the Forum and not the outdated one?

regards from Berlin

Indeed it does. :-) You can already see that in Scalix 11 Beta 1, available for download today.

Cheers from Frankfurt,
Florian.

I'm looking forward to test scalix 11... already had it setup in a vmware but quite now it's sleeping there till I have free time....

One last more thing: in sac in the 10er Version there is a typo: in german it's

Eintragen in Addressverzeichnis should be Eintragen ins Adressbuch/Verzeichnis with one d...

I always make this mistake mysqlf :o

now, to get this one fixed - can you please open a "minor" or "trivial" bug in http://bugzilla.scalix.com?

Thanks,
Florian.
