Auto-Download POP mail and deliver to Scalix User?

Can I set up Scalix to go out to an existing POP server, log in with specific credentials, then download and deliver messages into an existing Scalix user account?
If Scalix itself cannot do this, has anyone done something similar with a fetchmail script in cron?
