Can scalix handle 80GB of mail and at least 3GB of emails everyday? I'm hoping that someone will shed some light for me.

Can you provide some more description around your requirements ? What sort of service are you looking to provide ?

Cheers

we're planning to migrate a qmail site to a scalix solution instead. However we're abit hesitant to migrate them from qmail to scalix provided that we don't know wether scalix can handle this load everyday 24x7 without a hitch.

Currently the Maildir boxes now on that site is 80GB and is constantly growing everyday. The email traffic is about 1-2GB daily non-stop and a 100+ 24x7 concurrent connection.

Hardware wouldn't be much of a problem as we're planning to migrate it on:

HP DL servers with at least these specs:
Dual 3.0 Ghz Opteron
500GB SCSI drives
3 GB memory

In principle, Scalix' capacity to handle both mailbox sizes and traffic volume only depends on hardware sizing.

What number of users would this be for and what would be the concurrency rate among users? What client types would the users be using?

Thx,
Florian.
