Forwarding: Unexpected behaviour

I've used the sxaa tool to create forwarding rules on the domain I set up, but they don't seem to be behaving as expected. Here's an example.

I set up a rule for joe@mydomain.com to forward to his blackerry account on 9888888@whatsit.blackberry.com

This works fine on the surface: sue@otherdomain.com can send an email to joe@mydomain.com. A copy is kept in his mailbox, and another copy is sent to his blackberry.

However when joe receives it on his blackberry the From: address is shown as joe@mydomain.com, and the text of the email is quoted below as though the email has been manually forwarded by an email program, rather than by a mail rule.

So, he has to scroll down the email to see who its really from. When he replies, the reply goes back to joe@mydomain.com, unless he changes the address manually.

This isn't what I've come to expect from forwarding. Is this behaviour normal? How can I modify it? Or is it a terminology issue? Am I really trying to do a redirect rather than a forward? I'm beginning to suspect this is the case ...

I guess I just answered my questions at the end of that last post. redirect was what I was looking for, implemented through sxaa with the --retain flag, so it stays in the inbox.

For reference
sxaa --user "Joe Emailer" --redirect email@blackberry.com --retain
