I've been having an intermittent issue with sending email using Outlook 2002 and Scalix 11.4.3. This is an email my users receive:
From: MAIL-SYSTEM
Sent: Monday, November 21, 2011 3:50 PM
To: Email User
Subject: Returned mail: see transcript for details
----------------------------- ERROR REPORT ----------------------------- Message could not be delivered to the following recipient:
john.doe / internet
DDT1=RFC-822; DDV1=john.doe@example.com;
because: 'X.1.3 Bad destination mailbox address syntax' [OM 8913]

A few things to note:
- Internal emails go through just fine. Internet bound emails (ie, different external domains) messages are giving me the trouble.
- This does not happen on every email. In fact, I can send seven identical emails, to the same email address, and two of them "bomb" and the rest go through.
- This happens when creating a new email, forwarding, or replying. There is no rhyme or reason.
- This happens on some users accounts, but not all.
- My server configuration is mostly stock, ie, I have not made modifications. I did attempt to use a smarthost, but switched back.
Thanks in advance for any help!
