No mail going through. Rather urgent...

Postby rex007can » Fri Sep 15, 2006 8:20 pm

I just upgraded to Scalix 10.0.1 from Scalix 9.4

I'd gone through the update in a test env a couple times without any problems. But of course, now it just doesn't work. (obviously... )

Anyhow. It's running on RHEL3 on pretty solid hardware.
It's also running Spamassassin and Clamav
All of the above was working perfectly fine before the update.

Now from Webmail, I cannot send. I get MethodName=send popup and the message goes into the Draft folder.
Here is my smtpd.cfg file.
#ANONYMOUS reject ALL
RELAY accept 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0
RELAY accept 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0
RELAY accept 127.0.0.1
RELAY accept 172.16.0.0/255.255.0.0
RELAY accept .geminx.com
#RELAY Log_Reject ALL

# extra rules added to prevent open relay usage
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *@*@*
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *%*
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *!*
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *#*@*

Also, no mail is coming in, or going out. Neither Locally OR from/to the outside.

The only thing I can see that looks relevant in the logs in this in:
fatal
ERROR Service Router(Service Router) Fri Sep 15 20:02:41 2006
[OM 5183] A Mapper error has been detected.

Partially solved
The mapper errors were due to the fact that the update modified the omvscan.cfg file and it no longer pointed to the folder where clamdscan is located.

Incoming and outgoing mail is now going through.

But I still have the MethodName=send error with the webmail.

HA!
Because I am using Spamassassin, Sendmail is handeling some of the MTA job.
I made a few changes to the access file (Added the localhost's name instead of just the address and localhost) and restarted sendmail, and VOILA.
Everything started working properly.

I am now a happy camper...and i did it all myself.
Dunno if that's what fixed it...but I'll assume that was it.

Have a nice weekend...
