Provisioning mailboxes for the migrated users from W2K_AD

Postby Vick » Thu Sep 07, 2006 9:57 am

I don't get how can I provision the mailbox for the Internet Users which I've migrated from the Windows 2000 ADC.

I took omldapsync type=21 to import the users from ADC to the Scalix. In Scalix I've created the internet mailnode in which I've imported all the users.

I see all of them in SAC - greyout - can not change anything - cause they all have Internet User type.

Well now I just want to "use" this accounts one by one. So as far as I understood I need to provision them with real Scalix mailboxes and this one is doing with the ommigu tool. But I get all the time the error which I described here [http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=3611]

I would really appreciate any explanations or comments... Fighting with no success for a while now already :).

The users in SAC are grayed out because they have been imported by omldapsync from AD. This is normal and expected behaviour.

The ommigu failure appears to be due to the error:

ERROR: omsearch failed to find exactly 1 matching entry

So it seems as if you have more than one entry for Sophia Lenz or she does not exist at all. Please post the output of

omsearch -e g=sophia/s-lenz -m @all-attr@ -v

Here is the results of the comand:

Code: Select all

# omsearch -e g=sophia/s=lenz -m @all-attr@ -v
S=Lenz
G=Sophia
OU1=mailserver
OU2=lan
CN=Sophia Lenz
INTERNET-ADDR="Sophia Lenz" <Sophia.Lenz@machine.company.ext>
ENTRY-TYPE=1
UL-AUTHID=sophia
UL-CAPS=6
UL-CLASS=Full
UL-IL=GERMAN
HOST-FQDN=machine.company.ext
GLOBAL-UNIQUE-ID=198000008ba8de44-3.1.861.291
LOCAL-UNIQUE-ID=2209
CNTRY=DE
L=Hamburg
IA-FORMAL=Sophia.Lenz@machine.company.ext
S-SDX=L520
G-SDX=S100
DBV-ID=33554464
CN=Sophia Lenz
G=Sophia
S=Lenz
OU1=migra
UL-AUTHID=sophia@machine.company.ext
ALIAS=sophia
GLOBAL-UNIQUE-ID=kVS9MdHrD0uw+6IK\/eslOg\=\=
FOREIGN-ADDR=CN\=Sophia Lenz,OU\=Users,OU\=The Audio Factory GmbH,DC\=lan,DC\=audiofactory,DC\=de
INTERNET-ADDR=sophia@a***factory.de
S-SDX=L520
G-SDX=S100
HOST-FQDN=machine.company.ext
LOCAL-UNIQUE-ID=1456
DBV-ID=33554476

So the user is there and I'm sure that there is just one record of this user. But the ommigu is still giving this error. I'm assuming it could be that there is not all right with the attributes of the imported users... But what exactly?!

edited to remove internet addresses.

The output you provided indicates Sophia is already a scalix user.

From the man page for ommigu:

Code: Select all

-m mailnode         Provision local mailboxes.  This consists of creat-
                    ing local mailboxes with auto forwards set for each
                    of the selected users to redirect incoming mail  to
                    their existing remote (pre-migration) mailbox.  The
                    address for each remote mailbox is  assumed  to  be
                    the  SMTP  address  from the Scalix directory entry
                    for the associated user before this command is run.
                    The  mailnode  where the mailboxes will be created,
                    should exist locally  and  MUST  have  an  Internet
                    Domain  associated  with  it.  The Scalix directory
                    entry for each user will be  changed  to  reference
                    their  new mailbox, with the local mailnode instead
                    of the O/R address pattern  used  to  identify  the
                    route  to  the  remote  mailbox.   The  remote SMTP
                    address in each entry will be replaced with the new
                    local  SMTP  address for the mailbox (and thus, the
                    old SMTP address will no longer be  in  the  direc-
                    tory).   The  type of these entries will be changed
                    to local entry type and they will  be  hidden  from
                    omldapsync export.  The new local mailboxes will be
                    locked.  If neither the  -p  password  nor  the  -G
                    options  has  been  specified the passwords for all
                    the users will be set  to  the  string  "password".
                    The  -p  password, -G, --expire and --force options
                    are documented below.

The most important sentence is "The Scalix directory entry for each user will be changed to reference their new mailbox, with the local mailnode instead of the O/R address pattern used to identify the route to the remote mailbox."

Don

So after omldapsync I need to create Mailboxes for each user and then use the ommigu command?
I think we missunderstand each other on one or another point...
Does it make sense that my imported internet users have more then one email address assigned to them and the "Mail Address Domain:" of the Mailnode where I want to provide mailboxes for them is the FQDN of the Scalix server and "Mail Address Rule:" is "Server Generated"?!
Maybe there is a problem with that?!
Otherwise it still gives me the same error that the entry cannot be found in the directory, but I still see all Internet users in SAC and all users in output of "omsearch -s -m @ALL-ATTR@" command.

Would be great to get some hepl from you.
