Hi,
Could somebody please clarify what happens when an SBE or Enterprise licenses expires - does the installation stop running, change back to a Community Edition license, or something else?
Thanks
Robert

Your system will behave as a community edition, but if you have more than 25 enterprise users ALL of your users will only be able to use standard user features, until you get a new license or change some of your users to standard users until the total number of enterprise users is 25 or less.
Cheers,
Yuri

Wait a minute.... I thought that Enterprise Licenses were perpetual - you pay for support
and upgrades, but if you decide not to upgrade then your system should continue
to function as it always did.
Or am I tripping?

Yes....
I just wanted to add this to Yuri's comment when I saw your response.
There is no license expiry on a normal license.
(if your license says "Expiry", you are using an eval or trial license like the one you get for our 25 user, 60 day enterprise edition eval. In that case, when the license expires, the system will automatically downgrade to Community Edition functionality).
A normal SBE or EE license is perpetual. It has a LVID date (Last Valid Issue Date) encoded to it which means that you will be able to install new versions of Scalix published before that particular date - which is our way of tracking that you have software assurance and are licensed for upgrades.....
