One of your competitors is featured on the Apple website touting how easy it was to build a connector between their application and the Apple iCal and Address Book applications.

I found some older posts on the forums about iCal support, but nothing current. Any updates? What is the prospect of a connector for Macintosh similar to the Outlook and Evolution connectors?

I saw that ... looks like they've done a lot of work on their mail client. However, some things like iSync support aren't in the Open Source Edition which is a shame. Might be interesting to see how many Apple developers there are on here or using Scalix and see if there's interest in producing an iSync conduit/plugin for Scalix. The article you link to does make reference to Apple's Sync Services doing a lot of the ' heavy lifting' so it might not need heavy involvement (beyond answering API questions) from Scalix Support.
