Amazing

Heya,

first of all, after months of evaluating, Scalix CE Server 10 the system is online and productive. I never administrated a messaging service like notes or exchange and was really stunned by how much a messaging service helps administration in the daily process of new or relocating users. It went so far that our CTO reopened the unsigned but finished budget plan for 2007 for another Item to put in as soon as I calculated the cost for the enterprise edition of scalix. it helped a lot to install the scalix plugin to our CFO and his secretary so she would be able to access his calendar in outlook.

Well, so far my thanks to the team responsible for making all those amazing feature accessable by the community. So we have some unsolved problems, I hope I can solve with your help.

First of all: german umlaute doesn't show in header, like (ü,ö,ä) other mailprogramms allowed such characters.

Second is the webclient: per default its set to 12 hour (am/pm) and mm/dd/yy but we would need 24 hour and dd.mm.yy. I know a user can set that in the option menu, but it would be cool to have that set on default for every user.

Could you maybe show me the way?

winks and keep up the good work,
felsenstern

On the Umlaut issue, could it be that you're running on SuSE distros? If so, please search the forum as it will have to do with your OS language setting. This is a known issue.

The default for new users in webmail can be set in the /etc/opt/scalix/webmail/swa.properties configuration file.

Hope this helps,
Florian.

We are using Fedora Core 4 atm and I changed the language settings in

/etc/sysconfig/i18n

from
LANG="de_DE.UTF-8"
SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"
SUPPORTED="de_DE.UTF-8:de_DE:de"

to

LANG="de_AT@euro ISO-8859-15"
SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"
SUPPORTED="de_AT@euro ISO-8859-15"

but now I can't select Users in scalix/sac who have Umlaute in their usernames. Seems I screwed it up. Can you maybe gimme another hand?
