Password Lengths

Greetings,
We have been a Scalix customer for sometime now and I am just finding something out that I thought would have come up much sooner then it did. Is their a maximum number characters that a Scalix password can be? For example my password is 11 characters, but I found out today that I could log into both Outlook and SWA with using just the first 8. Is there a setting that I can change for the number of characters it checks in the password? It would be great if passwords over 8 characters can be allowed, checked, and enforced during the authentication process?
