Hi

I noticed that after some hours the server hard disk was working flat out after enabling the option
ARCHIVE=bcc:archive@example.com

I also noticed that I was receiving emails in the archive sometimes saying that a loop was detected and email was stopped. The email transcript does not reveal anything apart the fact that there is a loop.

The original message was received at Fri, 21 Jul 2006 11:28:47 +0200
from localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]

Well, I was replying to the main post, not specifically your latest response, but..

In the industry I'm in, Finance, regulations stipulate that all correspondence must be retained for a certain period of time, if not forever. Also, I just think it's prudent to keep copies of all mail that goes in, out and through the system. This allows me to do exactly that. I can just back up one directory tree, /var/opt/scalix/archive, and I'll have a copy of all emails that go in and out.

I'm just setting up Scalix to take over for a webhost, and so far it's been great. The Only things that I wish that could be easier are Single user backup and making aliases. That whole, go to the command line and type in a command is soooo time consuming! >:)

As for your problem. You're not archiving to an email account on the Scalix system you are archiving are you? Unless Scalix specifically prevents it for that account, you could start some sort of geometric cascade or something, heh.

A new tool for single user or folder or message restore will be available in the next Scalix version or even sooner. Stay tuned.

Cheers,
Yuri
