Hello Listees, I'm looking for a way to publish a read/write view of a public shared calendar. It will be used to publish an on-call schedule.

Reqs:
1. To have a shared calendar/public folder read/write to certain members
2. Read only to all others

Issue:
1. Not sure how to approach this requirment
2. Assuming it's to create a shared object in Public Folders via Outlook, I don't have permissions.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

You need to log in as a scalix admin via Outlook and then go through the standard procedure to create a public calendar. Here is an example:

Create a public folder of the Calendar type. After the folder is created, right click on the folder and click properties. Then click on the permissions tab. Change the default permissions to be 'Reviewer' on the pull down menu. Then click the add button and add the user you wish to manage the public calendar and give that user the permissions you wish.

Cheers,
Yuri

Thank you. I tried this. My assumption is that I create an outlook instance for the sxadmin account? When I try to create the new outlook profile for sxadmin, I get an alert that states "No license available for this type of client".

What am I missing? Is there a different admin user? Do I make my account an admin user?

Thanks.

I think I figured it out. I made my account an administrator and this seems to work.

Thank you.

Just FYI, the reason you got that "No license available for client" blah blah was that you have to specifically make sxadmin a premium user to be able to login through Outlook. You can do that in the SAC.
