we're working of creating such an offering ourselves, see our website for information on Scalix Appliance edition/kit.

What is your exact goal with this project?

Technically, Scalix is a normal app and has not hard OS dependencies, so it comes down to a self-installing OS with an automated application install.

Thx,
Florian.

This link tells about our project:

actually this is the product we are working on, were the official partners of scalix here in the Philippines and one way of us promiting scalix is to include the community edition in our product bundle called the IA8 or the intel architecture 8.

Actually we will be deploying 1 scalix server this week and we would like to automate the process thats why I would like to request for an automatic installer script. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

while this can certainly be done on the technical side, there is a slight problem using community edition for the purpose. The license agreement for CE contains the following term:

Reselling Scalix Community Edition

If You wish to resell Scalix Community Edition, or otherwise offer Scalix Community Edition
to others or for others' use for a fee of any sort, please contact Scalix Sales. You must
contact Scalix and receive our approval prior to offering Scalix Community Edition to others
for a fee.

Which basically means you can do everything with it except for creating commercial offerings to others. Or, in other words, if you make money through providing our software, we want a share. :-) Not unreasonable, I hope.

Obviously, we're willing to support any kind of business based on Scalix as long as it makes sense for all sides. :-) Looking at your offering, I think it does. I believe your company is already working with Hans on our side for your partnership. Please get in touch with him in Scalix sales to work out the details.

TIA,
Florian.
