Unknown Non-Delivery Reason (500)

Hello All,

One of our employees keeps getting a returned email error message when he sends email to a particular domain. The error in the return receipt is "Unknown Non-Delivery Reason (500)". However he states that sending email to other (not in the same domain as the proplem recipient) has worked fine. This lead me to do a DNS check on the recipients domain using dnsreport.com. The dns report errored when checking the domain's SOA. Below is the error:

ERROR: Your SOA (Start of Authority) record states that your master (primary) name server is: localhost.. However, that is not a valid domain name!

Could this be the reason why email won't get delivered to this domain? Also, I had our employee try to send an email to another contact at the same domain, and that too failed.

Is there a way to tweak Scalix so it's not so particular on these types of domain problems? Thanks in advance and as always thanks for Scalix. It rocks!

Mike

Why don't you check the MX record from your Scalix sever to see what that returns. You can use nslookup, then type "set type=mx", and then the other domain. What does that return?

Thanks,
Rachel
