Co-existence with Large Public Folders

Hi,

I have a client with a large Exchange public folder setup that the different branches and users use constantly.
Currently it's 1010 folders and the message store weighs in around 70gb.

I've read the Coexistence with Exchange 5.5 guide and it seems that with the setup of a mail account for every folder things might get very unmanageble very quickly.

We've got Scalix 10.0.1 setup co-existing with the AD and Exchange 2003, before we can start the migration of users we need to get the Public Folders setup.

Any advice or suggestions?

Chris

I would recomment getting the EXACT, verbatim requirement what this customer needs to be able to do with those folders and the messages in them before hand. This sounds like a huge setup and hence, it needs to be carefully tested. Once you have the requirements, please come back and we'll see.

Cheers,

Sascha.

The client uses their Public folder setup as a CRM device at the moment. Each client has all relevant mail, tasks and events grouped together.

They'd like to continue using it like they are now :)

We exported a list of all the Public Folders and date last accessed from Exchange and they use the folder extensively.
