Is it beneficial to run

Code: Select all

omtidyallu -M
daily?

It appears that Scalix runs

Code: Select all

mime.browse
on access to any message that has not yet had its MIME data cached, so running

Code: Select all

omtidyallu -M
before start of business daily to "cache MIME conversion data" on mail that has arrived overnight would improve responsiveness when users start accessing new emails first thing.

Does this sound right or am I missing something?

There is no need to rebuild the MIME cache every day. For each new message that arrives, the correct MIME data is built.

We only really advise rebuilding the cache after an upgrade in case we have changed any details relating to how we build the structure data.

Cheers
