OMsuspend and sending/receiving

Hi all,
Can anybody tell me what happens to email which is being sent or received whilst omsuspend is in action?
I am taking our scalix server down every night with "omsuspend -s 299", in order to do a backup of the mail store. During this time, if a user attempts to send an email, or one arrives from the outside world, is the server actually offline, or are changes delayed until the suspend times out? I have noticed that the outlook client doesn't display a notification about having to re-connect, so I am assuming that opertaion continues normally during this time?

From the man page for omsuspend:

omsuspend causes all client responses and queues to stall for the spec-
ified amount of time, allowing procedures for backing up Scalix data in
a consistent state while users remain logged on. Users logged on dur-
ing the stalled period will see no response from the Scalix server for
the specified time.

Each connected client will suspend when it has completed its current
operation in the mail server. To ensure that all message store activ-
ity has ceased you should wait a few seconds before starting the backup
process.

Regards,
Don

Ok great, but that doesn't answer his question. Will mail get lost when omsuspend is running?

No, of course not.
