Hiding IP address in the Scalix SMTP server

Postby adhodgson » Fri May 19, 2006 3:45 am

Hi,

Our company is going with a very secure accreditation. One of the items in this is that we do not under any circumstances present the internal IP of any of our workstations or servers.

Since we are still in the motions of convincing the business that Scalix is a good idea, we would like to find out whether it is possible to not present the IP address of the client in the received: headers? Our front-end mailserver will handle all external connections, so the only machines that would talk to Scalix are internal machines.

Thanks.
Andrew.

In /var/opt/scalix/sys/general.cfg you can add:

SMTPD_ADD_RECEIVED_LINE=FALSE

and restart smtpd internal ip's won't be part of the header.

Regards,
Don
