G'day,

I installed Scalix yesterday on a Suse box. There were a few issues and I have sorted most out however I cannot receive any emails. I can successfully send an email and if I type an invalid email address I receive the send failed type email back. The emails are not bounced back to the (remote) sending account so I think they are getting to my server.

The only errors I can find are using omshowlog. They are:
ERROR Administration(omstat) [OM.DMON 1011] A queue name specified does not exist.

SERIOUS ERROR Administration(omstat) [OM.DMON 1011] A queue name specieifed does not exist. The current error value: 42. I don't know what queue it is refereing to, is it Administration?...

For info. Firefox was taking many minutes to display anything and sometimes just timed out. On the server I had to manually update the java runtime to 1.5, it was 1.4 from the default suse install. After that the server was ok but my firefox XP clients were really slow, IE 7 was OK. I found there were two version of java on the client 1.5.0.03 and 1.5.0.04. The one being in the PATH was the .03 version. Removing both and updating to the current version was a vast improvement in speed and stability.

Scalix is looking really good, now if I can only get it to receive! :-)

Oh yes, this is the current Community Edition running on Suse 10.0 OSS with all it's updates applied. It is a brand new install with the prerequisites taken from the install quide. The only other thing I have installed is 'locate'. The processor is 2.7ghz with 768mb of RAM.

Have you setup DNS properly? Are your MX records pointing to the correct IP address? Is your /etc/hosts setup properly?

I don't know about that error -- but you can check what services are running from either SAC or by typing omstat -s from the command line as a superuser.

Up until yesterday I was using zimbra with the settings being as they are so I think they are ok.

I checked omstat again it says everything is enabled/started.

I enabled SMTP debug and basically when I send myself an email via another provider nothing happens. If I send an email locally (to another SCALIX user) then SMTP Relay fires up and does its thing fine. I would think (with my extremely limited understanding of networking) that this is a DNS, MX record or firewall (I turned it off for a period!) issue but I can't for the life of me see whats wrong. If I lookup my mail servers MX record it comes up with 'Jaglanbeta.com mail exchanger = 10 marvin.jaglanbeta.com.':
