Hi,

Having just nearly lost ALL my emails, contacts, calendars etc due to the rogue operation of some PcoketPC syncing software, I really need to get a backup sorted.

Can someone point me in the right direction...

Nothing complicated - struggled with the Scalix install if I'm honest, so needs to be easy. Webmin based would be easiest.

Its a default install on FC4, with only 3 users. I have another linux machine I can backup to.

Whats the easiest way to do this? I could do with running a backup overnight and keeping the backup for 5 days - so I have a rolling 5 day backup.

You have many options. You could stop all scalix services with omshut and tar /var/opt/scalix and restart scalix servics with omrc.

You could look at the admin_resource_kit directory of your install medium and have a look at what is contained in sxbackup.tgz. You would need /var/opt/scalix on an LVM to take advantage of that.

The ommaint script, again in the admin_resource_kit, has a backup up section.
