how to really delete/reset a user?

Postby fruor » Sun Oct 24, 2010 6:32 pm

I have an issue with several mailboxes, after omscan-ing and omtidyall-ing I want to try to recreate the user completely.
So today I tried this:

sxmboxexp -u "John Doe" -a "/backups/mailboxes/johndoe.mbox"
omdelu -n john
omdelent -e "S=Doe/G=John/OU1=birdy"

then I created the user "John Doe" in scalix admin console, and re-imported the messages using
sxmboximp -u "John Doe" -a "/backup/mailboxes/johndoe.mbox" -s --listlevel folder

In Windows I created a new Outlook profile.

The weird thing is, it didn't solve my errors and I recognized I have the OLD RULES from the "old" user.
The rules are kept
1) in the scalix rules wizard
2) in the outlook 2007 rules under extras - organize - rules and "benachrichtigungen" (sry for german term)

How do I get rid of all the user-preferences? I want to troubleshoot this with a complete new user, only with the old folders and messages.

The there is a hidden message "Scalix Rules Data", in the user’s inbox that has the Outlook rules that you can delete with omcontain. If you wanted to start with a clean slate you could re-create the John Does user and use a combination of omcontain, sxmboxexp and sxmboximp to export a “clean” hidden message, restore the users data, delete the restored hidden message and re-import the “clean” message. As soon as you save any changes to the rules via Outlook any backend rules will be wiped out.

This post may help as well http://www.scalix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16892&p=67227&hilit=rules+outlook+not+display#p67227
