Speeding up Sx_dump

Postby dougp23 » Tue Aug 03, 2010 1:28 pm

I am using the sx-dump script from it25.de

It does great, but after 3 hours, it had only backed up 9 users. Is there any way to make it go faster?
I see some of the variables "number of simultaneous backup processes", should I just set that to 10 or so?
I will do the backup at 1AM or so.
With the defaults, CPU utilization was quite low, less than 2%...

Thanks.

The maximum number of simultaneous processes depends on the number of CPU cores and of course the disk I/O.
You can increase the value and compare the statistics afterwards.
