External Sending / DNS

Postby Nick Cavanagh » Sat Mar 11, 2006 8:17 am

I'm having difficulty sending mail outside of the local domain- I'm getting this message back.
Message could not be delivered to the following recipient:

blah@blah.com

because: A mail transport failure occurred

Supplementary Information:

451 4.1.8 Domain of sender address

-
I suspect that the MX records have been changed badly by myself- can anyone confirm?

Your domain really is blah.com ? Use nslookup to see if your domain resolves.

According to my DNS records, your MX is pointing to mail.thecavs.com (85.159.58.167). Is this where Scalix is running?

try

Code: Select all

dig thecavs.com MX

on the scalix server. this should resolve correctly. also, are you sure that the sender address (i.e. first smtp address in your list of addresses for the scalix user) is a thecavs.com email address??

thx,
f.
