smtpd error after first installation does not run omsmtpd

fatal:

the problem arises only on eth1
not however to eth0 which points in the local area network

eth1 = InterNet
eth0 = local area network

ON Fedora Core 4 X86_64

The first thing to do is to check what is listening on port 25.

The command

Code: Select all

lsof -i :25

will show you the processes.

If sendmail is listening, you need to make sure that the DaemonPortOptions doesn't include anything other than the localhost IP address, i.e. 127.0.0.1

lsof -i :25:
sendmail 4921 root 4u IPv4 1473276 TCP localhost.localdomain:smtp (LISTEN)
omsmtpd 13246 root 5u IPv4 2155047 TCP 10.40.232.1:smtp (LISTEN)

there are the eth0 devive thats point to local Network

like that that the server from outside (InterNet) is not attainable:)

LISTEN=host.name:25

and ists run :)
