The original machine installed with scalix crashed. I restored the backup of following directory and files to a new FC4 machine, and it works as good as orginal one.

However, when I tried to upgrade the scalix, the installer does not recognize that the scalix is already on the machine. Could you please tell me what files/directories are missing from list?

Thanks, Jian

Directories:
/opt/scalix/
/opt/scalix-tomcat/
/var/opt/scalix/
/etc/opt/scalix/
/etc/httpd/
/usr/lib/httpd/

Files:
/etc/xinetd.d/scalixpxy
/etc/sysconfig/scalix
/etc/profile.d/scalix.csh
/etc/profile.d/scalix.sh
/etc/rc.d/init.d/scalix
/etc/rc.d/init.d/scalix-tomcat
init files for chkconfig levels

Probably rpm database files

Dear Jgao,

I suspect the issues you are having relate to the fact that the Scalix installer expects the RPM database on the system to reflect the fact that Scalix has been installed on the system already.

You may be able to fake things by:
1. Backing up the Scalix directories again.
2. Removing those directories.
3. Installing the old version using the Scalix Installer
4. Remove the directories again :-)
5. Restore the backup files.
6. Use the Scalix installer to upgrade.

Hopefully, I haven't left out any steps!
