Web Admin tool

hi
i can't log in to the web admin tool.

http://servername/Scalix/admin

it keeps coming up "failed to login"

i am using the scalix admin account

is there something else i should be doing ?

Cat the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file. At the end - you should see text that was written into the file by the Scalix install. If it's not there, you simply didn't click "Update" at the end of the Scalix-Wizard installation - the screen where it displayed the URL you are referring to. If this is a case post back here and I'll get you the text.

One important clarification - the Web Administration tool you are referring to is being completely replaced (it is slightly outdated). In the next release of Scalix (May/June timeframe) you will have a much more state of the art tool at your disposal - in addition to the vast command line tools.

no nothing in the httpd.conf
however i did find scalix-admin-tool.conf in the conf.d dir

it's not v important....i'll use the command line stuff for the eval

There are a few things you can check:

1) You are signing on as a Scalix user name and *not* a unix user name.
2) The unix user name associated with the Scalix User (Use omshowu and look at the System Login line) is not 'scalix' or 'root'
3) The IP address of the *webserver* is in /var/opt/scalix/sys/pam.d/adminhosts.
4) You have scalixpxy defined in /etc/services and /etc/xinetd.d
