No Licenses Available after upgrade

Postby kluss0 » Thu Feb 16, 2006 8:02 pm

I encounteed a problem after the upgrade to Scalix 10. Everything appeared to go smoothly. However, all of the Outlook users soon came to me complaining that they could no longer log in. They were getting an error that said "No license available for this clinet". I tried doing an sxlicense -u, but I got the error: "Could not communicate with the License Manager". A quick scan of /var/opt/scalix/bin showed a program called omlicmon which has no man page, and -h and --help are unrecognized options. So, just for fun, I ran omlicmon. That seemed to fix the problem.

However, I would like to know why this apparently very important program was not started, and why there is no man page or help for it. It isn't mentioned anywhere in the install guide, either.

Can you check /var/opt/scalix/logs/fatal and tell me if you see an error message OM.DMON 1103 ?

Cheers

No, I don't have that error. I do, however, have a few OM.DMON 1013 errors:

Code: Select all

SERIOUS ERROR           Licence Monito(Licence Monito) Thu Feb 16 18:54:17 2006
[OM.DMON 1013] The queue manager is not running.

I had the same issue on my server, and found out that for some reason 2 of my users have been flagged as "Standard" users, while they were "Enterprise" before the upgrade. A quick "ommodu --class=full" later the problem was resolved.

I also have a few OM.DMON 1013 errors round about the time of the upgrade, but not since.

I'm happy to report that the licence manager does start itself on a reboot and on a service restart (/etc/init.d/scalix stop|start).

FYI,
