Just read a Scalix vs. Zimbra article here,
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8722.
Noticed someone from Scalix offered the author to try out Scalix 10 Beta. My company is currently testing Scalix CE, wondered if version 10 Beta is available to try instead of waiting for the release?

I believe all Julie was conveying is what is on tap for the new release in February, not that there was a public beta the author could try.
I know I can't wait though. Really looking forward to the improvements in Webmail that I have read about on the forums.

Pretty right.
Actually, we did not run a beta program for Scalix 10; we were quite confident about the quality of the software so we didn't think the overhead of organizing a public beta would be worth the effort.
Scalix 10 is currently in "Limited Release", i.e. we've given it to a number of selected customers for production use - we have several 1000 seats in production on the software today. So far, so good. :-)
We'll be releasing the GA ("General Availability") release of Scalix Community and Enterprise editions pretty soon, stay tuned.
Cheers,
Florian.
