is that reproducible, i.e. does it occur when receiving mail from a particular sender or a particular message?

if so, you should try to capture the message.

put DEBUG_LOG=TRUE in your smptd.cfg config file and restart the SMTP relay using omoff/omon.

Then, run the message and check the smtpd.log logfile in /var/opt/scalix/tmp for the SMTP conversation.
