Internet Mail Gateway slowly accumulating undeliverable mail

the Internet Mail Gateway queue keeps slowly piling up undelivered mail.

I've found information relating to SpamAssassin being a culprit for this in other scenarios, but it looks like it isn't that in our case.

I'm sort of drawing a blank as to how to begin troubleshooting this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Always start by looking at your services and daemons

omstat -s
omstat -a

make sure none you use are stopped or aborted.

Then check the fatal log for any serious or fatal errors...in your case check for records relating to Internet mail gateway

Then check the event log (make sure you are logging info into that log.

omshowlvl

if you are looking at a specific service, I would normally set the event log level forthat service to 9 or 11 (see man page for omconflvl)

wait for a mesage to get stuck in teh queue, then check the event log...I usually find its easier to dump the ouitput to a file and then use an editor/viewer to look at the records

omshowlog -p 10 -s unix -l 11 > /tmp/file.txt

I find no fatal messages in my logs; I'm also working another angle re:shared addresses, but posting the output of the indicated commands in case someone has a cluebat:
