Killing an email

If I wanted to find and kill an email that was hastily sent to the everyone can this be done at the server level?

If it's still in the Scalix queues you can delete it with omqdump. If it's already in the mailboxes you may need to use omtidyallu to delete it. Be extremely careful with both these commands, they can do damage if used improperly.

If it's gone out of the server you are out of luck. Same applies to auto-forwarding, or people reading email via IMAP on their cellphones or are reading email at the time ... in general email can't be controlled easily.

Adding to Valerion's comments.

stop local delivery and service router on originator and recipient systems (you may need to use omsetsvc to stop the services if there are multiple queue runners...to get them to stop fast).
Then use omqdump to remove the messages.
You may also want to kill sendmail, then check the sendmail queue on both systems for the message and delete there.
