sxmboxexp loop

Postby charon » Sat Mar 22, 2008 3:49 pm

Hi,
i have a strange problem since upgrading to 11.3 on one Scalix Box.

The backup scripts, i normally use, just loop somehow

a 2GB Mailbox backed up manually to show the problem:

2286241 is the "normal" size

# sxmboxexp -u "Backuptest" -a test -F

growth and growth and growth

-rw-rw---- 1 root scalix 23G 22. Mär 19:39 test

i ran all known ommaint and omscan commands

did anypne else ran into this?

Does this happen on all your mailboxes, or just certain ones? Try running omcpoutu, maybe it will have better results, though 2GB is the limit for an omcpoutu file, so it may cause issues as well.

If it's only a few mailboxes it may be related to them. Otherwise this is going to be tricky to solve :(

it is just one mailbox on one host. I think, i will break the 2 GB limitation.

Hi

There is no 2Gb limit just use

/opt/scalix/bin/sxmboxexp --user "$USER" -F -a - > "$DUMPPATH/$USERNAME.mbox"

Sorted tghat one.

I got one user with 12Gb mailbox.

Hi

What operating system do you have?

We use either Redhat enterprise or CentOS and have no issues useing the above format. Maybe your OS just can't physcally store files above 2Gb

Hi

Then it seems that the mail box has some corruption which is causing this issue.

The only thing I can suggest here is pretty ugly and that would be to expoert the file to a PST on your desktop. Delete / recreate the mailbox and re-import the pst.

I know what you will be doing for the next week. Sorry I can't think of another way to solve this issue unless the guys from Scalix can step in here.
