Can't delete hidden email in Sent Items

Postby chewynet » Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:03 am

Hi

Using Scalix version 11.3.0.77, I was playing with Public Folder Calendars. Anyway creating an appointment and inviting people caused a whole lot of trouble. Local delivery crashed and I had to delete the appointment email from the queue to get it working again. I also had to use omdelete to delete multiples of that message from the Inbox of the users I sent it to to allow them to receive email again.

A consequence of this is there is something hidden in my Sent Items, indicated in the SWA, that is causing Thunderbird to crash when trying to copy a sent email to that folder. If I try to view the Folder in Thunderbird it just hangs trying to show the email.

How can I delete this problem hidden file from the Sent Items Folder. I only know of omdelete but that is for the Inbox?

Cheers

Patrick

Patrick,

if you use omtdiyu -B -u "username" -Tp -a0 -R

does that show anything (my guess is "no")

you could use omcontain, but use with caution as you can do a lot of damage.

Go into omcontain (if you need the password let me know), then drill down into the "pending" tray (that is equiv to sent items in outlook), and look for the item and delete it (you can use "?" for options, and "??" for more detailed options).

On the ball Mick. Running

omtidyu -B -u "username" -Tp -a0 -R

did indeed show the hidden message which was the same calendar appointment invite that had caused such trouble for the receivers and the local Delivery Service. I was able to clear it running

omtidyu -B -u "<username>" -Tp -t "<Subject>" -d -k

Everythings back to normal, bar the dodgy collaboration part!

Thanks again. I'm extremely grateful.
