Implement several mail address rules concurrently?

Postby 1enigma1 » Sun Jan 01, 2006 3:37 pm

I have completed a new install of community edition and I need to have the following feature, if possible:

- I set the system default mail address rule to first_last. The system automatically generates the aliases for the two possible domain name variants I added during the install.

- However, I need to have the system automatically add both first_last and also filast mail address rules for both variants when any new user is added

How can I do this?

This is currently not possible using the Scalix Admin Console (SAC).

However, you can set up those generations using the command line. Check out the manpages for omiam (man omiam) for an overview of the mapping mechanism and omaddiam for the command that you'll need.

You can setup up to five server-wide generation rules so up to five addresses can be auto-generated on user creation.

In worst case, the man page will even describe a mechanism with which you can create your own customized mapping script.

Cheers,
Florian.
