how to terminate imap-connection

hi forum,

i'd like to terminate an existing imap-connection to the scalix server of an user to rebuild the imap-cache. omstat -u all shows:

Elmar / scalix/CN=Elmar 60537 R 5953 09:42:19

5953 ist the PID. If i use kill -9 5953 the connection is build up again right away.
whats the correct way to shut down the connection at the server? btw. the user has closed all clients.

It is from a SWA user? The sessions will eventually die, SWA is busy accessing the mailbox for its own purposes (probably caching). Or it may not realize the client is gone and still reading the mailbox. You can restart SWA as a whole and the connections should go away.

If it's a normal IMAP client (not SWA) the user's machine is initiating the connections.
