check lsof -i:587 and see if it is listening on the correct IP addresses. Also try connecting from a phone / PC over the same interface your phones will use and see if you can find an error.

Valerion - here is the output of lsof:

[root@mars ~]# lsof -i :587
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME
omsmtpd 19685 root 4u IPv4 48923913 TCP mars.blueslate.net:submission (LISTEN)

It is listening on mars.blueslate.net and that IP is correct.

Webmail uses this port as we made that change is swa.properties and that is working fine, so I thought the phones would have no problem (unless I am missing something).

Thanks!

Try it from the outside. The only thing I can think of is that connections on that port doesn't get forwarded to the port correctly.

How do I test from the outside? Do you mean webmail from a location other than inside the network? Webmail is working fine from any location.

Thanks

Well I am an idiot ;p

Firewall was blocking access - we created a rule in the firewall, but we had to change to port 587.

It is now working - Valerion thanks a lot for your help!

Update:

The users who have phones using Windows mobile are not able to append the :587 after the server name. The phones where you can specify the port work so I know this is working.

Anyone use phones w/ Windows mobile who can append a port number after the server name or any change you made to get this working?

We have quite a few windows mobile users (new phones as well using version 6 and still no go) -

Thank you

If you have more than 1 IP you can put port 25 on one of them to redirect to the Scalix submission service. Otherwise I am not sure how you would do this.
