looks kinda messy with hosts ;)

i don't know how i did this :)

maybe for explanation:

niewels is the office server
mampf is the testserver

hostnames: scalix.niewels.de and scalix.mampf.de

actually, most of the stuff looks good - except for the result...

- assume you typed sxadmin@mampf.de as the login name into sac?
- what does hostname --fqdn output?
- what is in /opt/scalix/global/config
- what does lsof -i :25 return?
- assume you did not change the password of sxqueryadmin using the ommodu command?

thanks,
Florian.

yes, i try to login with sxadmin@mampf.de

[root@scalix bin]# hostname --fqdn
scalix.mampf.de

OMNAME=scalix
OMHOSTNAME=scalix.mampf.de
OMDATADIR=/var/opt/scalix
OMAUTOSTART=TRUE

OMHOSTNAME says only "scalix" before a post here in the forum said it should be the fqdn

[root@scalix bin]# lsof -i :25
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME
sendmail 2540 root 4u IPv4 5274 TCP localhost.localdomain:smtp (LISTEN)
omsmtpd 7594 root 4u IPv4 131540 TCP scalix.mampf.de:smtp (LISTEN)

uhm... i changed the pass of the sxqueryadmin 8)
but i did that after the sac stopped working

edit:
how to i get rid of the mailnode scalix,niewels?
it shouldn't be on that server.

OK, the sxqueryadmin thing is the problem; difficulty is that it uses a randomly generated internal password so we can't recover it easily. We will have a better mechanism for this in a future version.

What you should do is...

- run scalix-installer in custom mode, uninstalling scalix-sac and scalix-res
- manually remove the user - omdelu -n sxqueryadmin
- run scalix-installer in custom mode, installing scalix-sac and scalix-res

It should then recreate the user with another valid password.

Can you let us know if this helps?

thx,
Florian.

on the mailnode thing...

- first you need to create a new mailnode (omaddmn or scalix admin console)
- then you need to move all users and PDLs to the new mailnode (rename them) using ommodu and ommodpdl
- then you can set the new mailnode as default (ommodmn)
- then you can remove the old mailnode (omdelmn)

gotchas:
- in a multi-server configuration, dirsync agreements will then need to be recreated (because of the change of the default mailnode).
- if you have old internal mail in your users inbox, this will not be repliable. to fix this, you can setup the parameter SR_RESOLVE_MASK=4 in /var/opt/scalix/sys/general.cfg and restart the service router

That should do the trick.

BTW, i meant to ask for
lsof -i :389

to check if it's really scalix-ldap that is listening on the port - which i assume.
