Scalix Community edition 10 and new Suse 10.1 - compatible ?

Postby Giri » Thu Apr 13, 2006 6:06 pm

Hello Team

In the datasheet, the scalix community edition is compatible with SuSE 10.0 OSS.
What about the newest Suse version 10.1 ?

Thanks for feedback
Daniel

If it's not on the datasheet, it's not been tested or is supported.

Typically, we will support (i.e. test) the versions that are available to us at the time we code freeze. We also tend to support the latest "free" version and the corresponding Enterprise versions of both RedHat and SUSE. We don't provide support for the paid-for consumer versions of SUSE.

That said, other users have persuaded Scalix to install on some of the "free" enterprise versions from CentOS and also SUSE 10.0 ( not OSS ) so you need to search through the forums to find out how that was done.

If that doesn't help, take a look at Scalix CE Raw which is, basically, an unpackaged version of Community Edition but there are manual installation instructions at our CE Raw site.

Cheers

Dave

I actually mentioned SuSE Linux 10.1 OSS as this version has RC1 recently released (non OSS is not available currently).
Do you have plans to support this new 10.1 OSS version ?

I plan to upgrade my servers to 10.1 OSS nearly and my Scalix server still runs on a 10.0 OSS installation so I am interested to hear, if you plan to support Scalix on the 10.1 OSS.

Thanks
Daniel
