When I reboot the scalix server becomes unusable

Postby colint » Wed Mar 29, 2006 4:25 pm

Hello,

This simply might be that I have not started something somewhere that I need to. When I attempt to login to the admin console I get this error with the correct user name and password:

Could Not Login
Could not fetch base server settings.
Possible problem with administration server.

When I attempt to login to the webmail section I get this error:

Cannot connect to boromir.scalix.local!
Is the Scalix Web Access server correctly configured?

I can fix this by reinstalling/reconfiguring web access and admin console through the scalix installer but then the very next time I reboot I am back to not being able to access anything. Not that I plan on rebooting that much but this is obviously a serious issue.

One other thing that is strange... after the reinstall I go to the admin console via http://192.168.0.7/sac/ but after the reboot I can only access it via http://192.168.0.7:8080/sac/. Why would it switch to the different port? Of couse as mentioned above I can only get to the login screen and not actually login after reboot.

Hi. Please see the Scalix 10.0 Release Notes regarding the installation of a new tomcat under the /opt/scalix-tomcat subdirectory and the use of a new tomcat startup script /etc/init.d/scalix-tomcat. It appears you haven't disabled the old /etc/init.d/tomcat script.

Thanks,
Rachel
