how do I create a 'catch-all' email address?

Postby kingson » Wed Mar 16, 2005 9:28 pm

I want to create a set of mailboxes that would catch emails according to the patterns of the names of the receipients. For example:

test*@blah.com would go to "test" mailbox.
dev*@blah.com would go to "dev" mailbox.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Kingson

Scalix does not have a catch-all feature but you can achieve it using the virtualuser feature of sendmail. However, what you are looking for is beyond sendmail's virtualuser capability because you require wildcarding. The other alternative would have been to use special re-writing rules but, because you are looking for general pattern matching, this isn't achievable in sendmail.

Cheers

Dave.
